Skincare is a very important part of your beauty routine because if your skin is not taken care of, the makeup that lies on top won’t look great.
Also, you only get one skin so you need to take care of it! Protect it from the sun, make sure it’s hydrated, and keep acne at bay!
There are so many different ways to take care of your skin but one way that has made strides in recent years is oil.
Face oils have been everywhere lately; from moisturizers to cleansers, even face oil primers, it can be very overwhelming. Oils can also be very intimidating so it’s important to understand why and how to use them.
Why You Should Use Oils
We spend so much time trying to balance our skin and remove the oil, why would you put them right back into your skin?
Well, there is a reason. Oils have incredible skin care benefits, including hydration, so if your skin is very oily it’s important to put that hydration back into the skin to balance it out.
Oils also can get vitamins into the skin a lot faster than anything else so that will make your skin healthier immediately.
There are different ways to use facial oils; you can use them exclusively as moisturizers or in conjunction with their favorite moisturizer. Either way, you’re getting the benefits of the oil, it’s just whether or not you want to take that extra step
Three Benefits of Facial Oils
- As a stand alone product, facial oils have incredible benefits. First off, an oil is better for dry skin than a regular cream. They’re packed with fatty acids and hydrating properties that are more effective for very dry skin.
- Oils (mostly higher end oils such as camellia and jojoba) are also great at shrinking enlarged pores. These oils can remove the dirt from the pores which make them smaller.
- One of the best benefits of using an oil is that they can reduce wrinkles. Most oils are packed with antioxidants to prevent aging, especially argan oil.
I personally love face oils, my favorite being the Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Infusion de Rose Nourishing Oil, and I have used facial cleansing oils to remove makeup and wash my face.
Now that you’ve heard the benefits of face oils, will you be adding one into your skincare routine?
