2017 Beauty Resolutions

The New Year has arrived and it’s time for a fresh start. Goals & resolutions are being made and hopefully followed through. A new year means many things to many people, whether it’s joining the gym, starting a new project, or simply making subtle changes to their daily routine.

For me, it means setting different kinds of resolutions: beauty resolutions.

What does that mean exactly?

It means that it’s time to refresh some things in the beauty routine, try new trends, and make a vow to make some beauty changes. Maybe you need to rethink a skincare routine, or want to try a new beauty treatment; there are so many ways to make beauty resolutions.

  1. Throw out expired product: As a beauty lover, I accumulate a lot of product. While I try and love most of these products, I don’t clean out my collection as much as I should. I probably should get rid of some lipsticks, lip liners, and a handful of skincare products because they’re expired and are no longer safe to use. I’m sure a lot of us are not up to date on throwing out expired products so more on this topic in a future blog post….
  2. Experiment More: I’m the type of beauty lover who is very stuck in her ways. I like my neutral eyeshadows, my dewy foundations, and a nude lip. I have a handful of standout colors in my collection, but don’t wear nearly as much as I should. In 2017 I vow to play with makeup more and step outside my comfort zone.
  1. Renew Routine: While I want to experiment more, I think it’s important to take a look at your beauty routine, including hair & skincare, to see where you want to change things up. Maybe you want to try a new primer instead of the one you’ve been using (Spackle Eventone is my favorite in the line), or swap out your face wash for something that is a little more your speed (The FRESH Soy Cleanser is a great gentle one)beauty resolutions-blog post-spackle-concealer-makeup-beauty blogger

Maybe your beauty resolution is to start using makeup more. Maybe it just hasn’t been your thing but you’ve wanted to try something out for a while; for that kind of resolution, I’d recommend starting with the basics: a good primer, a great foundation, full coverage concealer, and an everyday neutral lip, like Tribeca Tan from our Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipstick Line.

When it comes to skincare, the same thing applies: start with a good makeup remover, cleanser, and moisturizer: First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser, Makeup Eraser, Belif Aqua Bomb.
